Isaac's 1st Birthday 'Ritual'

According to Hokkien traditions, a kid is supposed to 'choose' an item that will best represent his 'fate' for the rest of his life. So, during Isaac's 1st Chinese birthday, we arranged that session for him!

We put a few items on the table: abacus, calculator, pen, ruler, book, red eggs, ang ku kueh and money. Watch the video to see what Isaac picked up!

Isaac is 1 year-old!

Time flies. Isaac is one year old already! We brought him to the Bird Park to celebrate his one year of being, and he was quite happy about it. And well, all of us are really exhausted after the 2 hour outing!

An uncle at the coffeestall bought Isaac a drum recently and Grandpa uses it to make Isaac excited enough to do a lion dance performance! See how he shake his head, at times rather vigourously!

Grandpa decided to give Isaac a new toy one evening - a new pail! Isaac happily carried it from the market back to home! And, since then, he has been carrying a full pack of toilet rolls and tissue paper for grandpa!

He knocks himself against the cot (painful for us but not for him apparently), he falls down quite a few times, and tries to do a 'great leap forward' to the other side of the cot (with wobbly feet). So cute huh??? if yes, then i should let you spend some quality time with the fella - then you know what a zookeeper feels like when he has to tame a monkey ... hee hee...

Isaac is 9 months old already!

Time flies, our little baby.... oh no, it should be our boss.... oh no, it should be little emperor.... is already 9+ months old. Sorry didn't have the time to post updates coz been swamped with work recently. So here's everything you need/want to know about the fella!

His voice has always been quite loud, and when he screams, it's even louder! Imagine when he screams into our ears sometimes when we carry him:)

Isaac's 7 months old and Mummy's back at work!

Sorry for not updating this blog for a while. I started work on 1 Apr (erm, it's not a joke) and i'm usually too tired by the end of the day to use the computer to blog etc. So, hence the delay!

I enjoy coming back to work. It gives me some personal time and a chance to use my brain cells more efficiently, rather than just thinking about what time Isaac had his last feed, should i get more milk powder etc. Good mental stimulation at work at least. And i'm really lucky that my parents' and sis-in-law are helping to take care of the little rascal, which leaves me with a peace of mind to concentrate on my work.

And Isaac is getting very fun to play with! He makes lots of noise, wants to participate when we talk and giggles and screams when he's happy. Here are some recent pictures of the fella!

Grandaunt visits Isaac!

Aunt Lee Chin trooped down to Singapore to visit his dear grand-nephew last week. And Isaac had a good time playing with his grandaunt!

Isaac loves to twist his hands around and has recently developed an interest in doing leg-lifts. He does this when he's lazing around and when he's bathing!

We brought Isaac for his first swim last weekend and he really enjoyed the water! He was scared at first but got comfortable eventually! I think he's quite a water baby coz he always enjoys bathing!
